I'm staying at the Royal Orchid right now. Are you staying in the Towers? I ask because there is a lovely Towers lounge on the 26th floor. It closes at 10 pm, I think, but I'm sure the concierge could arrange for it to be available to you for a late night proposal, with flowers and champagne, etc. It would be spectacular if you could arrange for fireworks (how does one do that?) as the shells break at eye level in the lounge...

I like the idea of proposing on a boat. For me, the river is the lifeblood of Bangkok, and proposing there would be so special.

there are fireworks all the time that people arrange for parties so it obviously can be done but I have no idea what it would cost.

Taking some of the boat suggestions together, why not ask the concierge at the ROS to arrange a private boat for you - maybe bigger than a longtail? Have them fill it with flowers and champagne (like someone else suggested) and maybe they can even get a big enough boat where you can be personally served dinner aboard.

I would definitely get the concierge involved though, because it could totally mean a room upgrade!

Or for a beautiful and unique place, why not smack dab in the middle of the flower market? What girl would not want to get engaged in a foreign country surrounded by thousands and thousands of georgeous flowers?
