people pay to join with us....

Pandas are not linear
But the experience is grinnier.
The report is a living item
Easier to read than write 'em.

Please forgive the meter
I'm a rhyming cheater.

Oh, dear. Will someone be a dear and bring me my smelling salts.......................I feel the vapors coming on....

Gpanda Jul 25th, 2009 10:22 AM

Vapid...vapors, makes sense to me.

"Will someone be a dear...?" Have we been transported back to a 1930's romantic comedy? Like I said, on another thread, a Nora Charles wannabee.

DonTopaz Jul 25th, 2009 11:35 AM

Dear Lord, save us; video of a panda's birth:

bookchick Jul 25th, 2009 12:51 PM

Don, you devil! Amazing and repulsive all at the same time.

Amazing and repulsive all at the same time.

Are you referring to the video or to gpanda?

Or perhaps one does not exclude the other?

indianapearl Jul 25th, 2009 03:11 PM

If only human childbirth were so effortless . . .

ekscrunchy Jul 25th, 2009 03:48 PM

And here he is just last week:

I'm taking the high road here. I put an entirely accurate mildly amusing trip report/GTG report on the forum and this is the thanks that I get.

rhkkmk Jul 25th, 2009 05:37 PM

you are lucky that it has not been removed as irrelevent...

lcuy Jul 25th, 2009 06:01 PM

Ah...You know we love you Andy! High or low or on the road, you're our Panda.

Gpanda Jul 25th, 2009 06:25 PM

Thanks Lcuy. I will continue to plod forward.

Do they even teach spelling in the Needham schools? If so, do they give tests? How could Bob have graduated?

Ekscrunchy is another story. She spells well and has a wonderful command of mid-20th century English. Her proclivity for obscure websited remains a mystery.

bookchick Jul 25th, 2009 06:31 PM

Don, both on the "repulsive, yet amazing" front.

Panda, you're simply jealous of ekscrunchy's abilities with the websites, and it is very, very obvious.

rhkkmk Jul 25th, 2009 07:46 PM

my spelling is perfect, my typing is less than perfect, like certain attorneys i know...

Gpanda Jul 26th, 2009 02:33 AM

There's not a chance he could correctly spell "Spelling Bee".

Pandas are way too oblivious to ever be jealous. Like I said, we take the high road.

ekscrunchy Jul 26th, 2009 02:47 AM

"Websited???""

I am skedaddling right out of here. On the low road!

Gpanda Jul 26th, 2009 03:54 AM

If you're not websited, no one is. I note that you avoid being photo sited, apparently this modesty does not extend to websites. It could heve been worse, you could be shortsighted.

rhkkmk Jul 26th, 2009 01:08 PM

the rhk's and the craig's met for our own mini GTG today, one week after the now famous nyc GTG....craig and jeane located an old barn in NE CT which has been converted into a charming restaurant that overlooks fields, gardens and a "still river"...its called "still river cafe" and is located in eastford, CT---don't blink or you wizz by eastford, as we did..

the food was presented in a very artistic way and each item was simply delicious....the china used is all very odd shapped whiteware which added to the ambiance....the starkness of the inside of the barn and the white tablecloths made for a lovely setting...

they are on line....the place is about 8 miles or so off of rt 84, exit 74 just south of sturbridge, ma...

cost: craig's comment was--"the most expensive lunch i've ever had..." but none of us minded because it was all so good..

samples: carpachio pouches of kobi beef with goat cheese side sauce
goat cheese wrapped in thinly cut beet with sauces and a whipped cheese served in an egg shell
mussels in a wine dijon sauce

sauteed and fried bay scollops over mashed potato with chard
sea bass over mashed potatos with fennel and chard with a small cup of cod chowder
rack of rabitt served with a rabitt country pate, greens and sauces

medley of chocolate cakes, all on one plate
strawberries and rasberries on a biscuit, sorbet and lemon pudding
poached whole pear in red wine with cheese

everything was fantastic

talk centered around fodor characters---yes--gpanda, ekcrunchy, dogster, jamesA and Tong amongst others...
the various places of SEA both in favor and out of favor, upcoming trips and past trips...

lunch lasted 3 hours...
