In fact in many parts of Indonesia (notably Java) the faithful are called to prayer every morning at 0430, not just during Ramadan. They're just a bit more emphatic during the fasting month. :)

Marmot - They were also pretty "emphatic" in Sulawesi last week, at least in Makassar. :-) In Torajaland, which is mainly Christian, we were disturbed only by the church bells on the Sunday morning - no pleasing some people...
