Miyako Odori

Does anyone know how to get tickets to see Miyako Odori (Dance of the Capital) in Kyoto during April, 2007. How much are the tickets? Is it worth the price?

It is very much worth the price. I absolutely loved it. It was one of the most enjoyable things I've done in Japan.

emd arranged for the seats through the concierge at her hotel before she left for Japan.

Go, go, go. As mrwunrfl said, it was a highlight. Incredibly lovely and mysterious, w/haunting music. I can still hear the music/chants when I am thinking about it now.

Yes, I called the concierge at the hotel I was going to stay at and she arranged for the tickets. I think I called about 6 or 8 before we went and we got great seats.

Gosh, now I can't get the music out of my mind! I've been hearing it all day; it is very distinctive. I even looked at the program that mrwunrfl bought for my daughter and I at that performance and looked at it today (it is sitting on my coffee table in the living room).

I can't imagine having a chance to go to this and passing it up.
