bill---no peninsula??????????????????
not even the oriental?? i do like rennaissances...marriott does a good job... less than a month to go.... bob |
Bob:
When you consider that we are getting this hotel at $35/night and its a 4 star-we will manage! (Our relatives there are getting us the native rate!) |
Sounds so nice!!! I love shopping at Tutuban...counting the days until I can get back.
What is Corregidor? How far from Manila? How big a boat? Sounds like you have a lot packed in. In the evenings do you guys just get a bite to eat and go back to the hotel or do you do family things? I can't wait for the trip report!!! |
bill---"native" rate....is that non-politically correct???? dems wouldn't like that!!!
native....lets see that means grass hut, hole in the floor bathroom or out back, no screens and of course no a/c...doesn't matter as your wife will be out shopping 24/7.......... haha |
Ok- how about Local resident rate- will that placate the Dems?
Corregidor- is on the Bataan peninsula. Its whewre MacArthur and the troops made their last stand fighting the Japanese invasion of the islands.I think the boat ride is about 20-30 minutes- its not very far from Manila. Not sure how big the boat is. Actually on this trip we are doing so much that our shopping time is more limited. |
bill was that you right in back of mcarthur??
|
Bob- I'm not that old! The people there really have MacArthur to thank for liberating the islands as the top navy brass and the president were going to bypass the islands and take the fight to Japan. MacArthur convinced them to liberate the Phillipines first.
MacArthur should have run for president of the Phillipines- he would have won handily! |
