Are you on Facebook by any chance? There is a good planning group there by Nick Kembel, a Canadian who lived there for many years. He married a Taiwanese woman and has 2 kids, so much of it is geared to activities with kids, but he has a good knowledge of the country. He also has a couple of travel blogs:
https://www.taiwanobsessed.com https://www.nickkembel.com/taiwan-travel-guide/ My tentative plan for Taiwan is: Taipei -5 (adjust to time difference, see city, day trip) Taroko Gorge -2 Taitung 2 Tainan-3 Shizhuo - 2 Taichung -2 Taiwan airport - 1 (early flight) I'm back on the forum after a fair old absence, but thought I'd drop a comment as a) in in the very very very early stages of planning an autumn 2025 trip to Japan and b) I spent 3 weeks in Taiwan just a few months ago (October) and would be happy to give feedback. I had visited the country for 5 nights previously as well, so could skip a couple of things we had done in that first trip. I also used Nick's FB group and websites, and posted in the group on my return. I also did 4 weeks in South Korea in 2022 if anyone wants help on that destination! 🥰 |
hi Kavey, welcome back!

hi Kavey, welcome back!
We had an amazing 4 week trip in South Korea in October 2022, we used advice from here and some Korea travel Facebook groups to plan. And we did 3 weeks in Taiwan in October 2023, having visited previously for 5 nights several years ago. Last year was tough as I got covid for the first time in March and was off work for weeks, then stuck with long Covid fatigue for the rest of the year, and on top of that I got whooping cough (100 day cough) in late October, November and December! It meant that I still struggled with fatigue in Taiwan but still had a good trip. The fatigue hasn't completely disappeared but it's a lot better than it was! This year we decided to do only short haul in UK and Europe but next year the plan is back to Japan! 😁😁😁 |
Hi, Kavey! What wonderful travels, past and future!
I’m glad you’re feeling better and wish the best for continued recovery! |
