Hot or Cold in Hong Kong
 

Do I need to pack shorts and sandals for my trip to Hong Kong next week? Are people wearing shorts this time of the year?

The weather is a bit tricky these days, here in HK. BEcame really warm last saturday - could wear shorts but then got all cloudy on sunday and by evening we were wearing sweat shirts! I guess pants are safest. Check cnn for latest weather updates.

Was just in HK 1st week of April 2002. It was warm. Brought windbreakers, but never needed it. My husband even went on a half-day tour using a sleeveless tank top. Had to put a shirt over it though later in the day. Very comfortable shoes/sandals and light clothing is called for since HK is a walk-around type of town.

I go to HK at about this time every year. It will range from warm to hot, but you can count on it being humid.<BR><BR>For business, nice slacks with a short sleeve shirt are fine.<BR><BR>For daytime touring, bring your shorts and sandals, plus some light weight pants. For night, light pants and MAYBE a light jacket- although you probably will not need it. <BR><BR>I'll be there the week after you, and I will not bring any long sleeve shirts.

Kimkim,<BR>weather in here are weird theese days, I was wearing shorts 3 days ago (approx 25C-26C) and now its breezy and down to 18C at nite!!

You definitely should bring along shorts and summer clothing to wear in HK, and a light rain jacket will suffice. You will find however, that Hong Kong people do not wear shorts! It's a fact! I was there the end of March and it was very warm.
