Things go OT here all the time. No big deal.
maryanne1 - You can fly MYR-DTW-NRT-BKK on NW with just the right connection time in Detroit and Tokyo. |

Does the Oriental let you keep the room until 9:00pm because you frequent the hotel and they know you or is it a common practice to all registered guests. Just curious as we are considering staying there in Feb 06. Aloha! |
I'm sure the fact that I'm a frequent guest makes a difference but you can always ask. I think they try to accomodate even first timers if the hotel isn't full. It's harder if the place is jammed -- then I suspect they only do it for repeat customers. I'm friendly with the Director of Guest Relations (I remember when she gave me my room key at the font desk 20 years ago) and I always ask her. Bottom line -- it never hurts to ask.
Also, some of the ways you reserve the room include late check out. |

Just looking at the Northwest website for the months I would go Jan or Feb. one has to fly Delta to ATL then SFO then Bangkok. Actually that flight cost more than if I had to fly Thai even with a Spirit flight from MYR and then a taxi ride. The problem once again would be having the right connection times all in one day which is probably not possible. I have been pleased with Northwest and have collected many airmiles with them. They just do not come into our airport every month of the year. Just always looking for a way to make the flight shorter time wise and cost wise. My last trip 2 years ago was thru Charlotte. |
I just was ticketed on Thai Air in economy class-JFK to Bangkok -(non-stop) 17 hrs. and Bangkok to Chiage Mai and return for $1180 including all taxes. JFK to Bangkok and return was $992.
I am not going until early April, 2006 next year but in the Oct-Nov and April-June you should be able to get the same fare. I did notuse internet booking site but waited the 40 minutes to talk to a live person. |
