Hello! We stayed at the Angkor Century in October and were very happy with it. I think that the room was about $54 a night, we had a balcony, the breakfast was huge! Maybe about 4 tables full of anything you could think of to eat. There was a nice pool and a spa on the premises, the rooms were clean and nice. Overall I was quite happy there, if that helps at all. Can't comment about the other hotels, but I hope that this helps a bit.

In reply to hawaiiantraveler's question ther are lots of cheap guesthouses in siem reap. If you are a young backpacker fan rooms are around $5-10 and A/C rooms for the budget traveller $15-25. For more details this is a good site

Sharon212,
Being that I don't want to be accused of being spoon fed, let's just say that I made my arrangements for the Angkor Holiday thru a local in Siem Reap. And you? |
Just returned from Siem Reap yesterday and was spoon-fed with a tour group. We stayed at Angkor Princess and it was suitable. All you need is a clean, cool room with bath. The rest of the time you are out and about. Take Off or equivalent, a hat and sunscreen. It is hot and humid and I live in Texas where I thought I knew hot and humid. The temples are worth every drop of sweat. Be ready to do a bit of climbing of stairs. Also try to make the trip to the floating village.
p.s. I'm glad fuzzylogic didn't try his way of traveling while I was there because most hotels were full due to Chinese New Year... |
Broncos32,
The nameless local has booked her brother for us and reserved rooms at the Prince d'Angkor. We arrive on the evening of the 16th of March, so if you would like, please contact us at our hotel - David and Sharon Flory. Cheers, Sharon |
Mitch04 - I hope that you enjoy the Bopha Angkor as we did. The photos on the website don't really do the common areas justice. It's a nice peaceful spot to come back to, with no real "front" to the complex. Just sort of like entering a garden. Very convenient and walkable to the old market area without being in the midst of it. Be sure to try the Bopha restaurant which we enjoyed as much as any along our trip through BKK, N. Thailand and various places in Cambodia. Good staff and the Khmer curries are very different from Thai. Sweet and subtle. The chicken amok was a fav. Have fun. |
