not surprising.....so just do not plan on going at that time....the date should be available in advance..

One problem is that no date has yet been set for the elections, but they have said elections will occur during the dry season, which is high season for tourists. I expect there are plenty of people who have already planned trips to Burma in Nov/Dec.

Actually, I'll be interested to see whether they hold elections at all.

I am headed to Hanoi in a month and have been thinking about a late Oct or early Nov. "side" trip to Burma. The non-stop flight between Hanoi and Yangon plus the VOA was a deal maker for me. But like others, I have been watching the news to see if/when the elections might occur. So for now I am just sitting and waiting..... I am sure lots of other people are doing this also.

November 7th - election day. This messes up my plans completely. Oh well....now I have to figure out where else I can go!!
