patricia....after his last experiences i don't think you will want to lady-handle him again...
|
lol lol lol.
Dogster remains pure as the driven snow. He is keeping himself clean for Boston. He knows who his real friends are. |
I'm hoping there is no driven snow in Boston in October. However, the Dogster is always welcome at the GTG. I would love to read about his adventures in the seamier side of Cambridge. Maybe there will be something about leaving a book opened on a table thereby theratening the integrity of its spine.

where are all our regulars this year....who is coming???
|
Hi Carol: I'll check out some flight possibilities. The last time I flew to Boston (2003), there was a non-stop from Indy to Boston. Maybe next year.
Carol(yes, my real name is not Pearl) |
SMALL CHANGE IN PLANS....ITS ONLY THE GTG HOTEL FOR OUT OF TOWNERS.....IN ORDER TO SAVE MONEY I HAVE DECIDED TO SWITCH FROM THE WALTHAM SUMMERFIELD BACK TO THE BURLINGTON, MA SUMMERFIELD SUITES....
burlington has a pre-pay price of $79 or an AAA and seniors price of $89 (no pre-pay). this is much less than the $129 lowest price available in waltham..... the distance is only 10 miles further away at the most and on the same highway.....plus most of you know its location from previous years....put the money towards wine instead!! grab your res now as i am sure the price will change....i took the non-pre-pay and will convert to the prepay that week if it is still available.... |
btw, i have not heard from many of you....hope we can muster at least 30 again this year....

I just made reservations for me and Eric at the Hyatt Summerfield Suites in Burlington for Friday Oct 9 and Saturday Oct 10. I chose the AAA rate since my health situation precludes me from making any plans that require money up front. Hopefully all will be resolved long before that. Looking forward to seeing everyone there.
Ken, we'll miss you! |
aloha laurie, my good wishes to you, and hope you get better. lets hope for another gtg, where ever.

Hello rhkkmk,
I sent you an e-mail yesterday with a question about the logistics, i.e., whether this can be reasonably doable if I will not have a car with me. If you don't get the e-mail, I'll re-send. |
CMT-yes, it is very doable without a car. We'll just match you up with someone that can assist for lunch on Sat. The other two spots are reachable through public transportation.
|
Gpanda, is your e-mail address posted here somewhere?
|
Really no worries for people without cars. The main event on Saturday is actually very easy to reach vi public transportation -- the Hotel Indigo is adjacent to the Riverside MBTA station (Green Line).
|
I was planning to skip the brunch but go to the two evening dinners. I will not have a car.
|
Hi Bob-As you know Jim and I will be unable to attend the GTG this year as we will be in Capetown getting it ready for your arrival. A word to any fence sitters or newbies who are considering going- We had a great time last year at the Sat. night dinner. (We could not make the luncheon GTG) That was our first GTG and we had a wonderful time. The food was great. The company was fabulous. (Even Dogster was well behaved) A really good time was had by all.

Do you live in the city? I am flying in from Illinois and I will have a rental car. I'll be staying in Burlington MA at the Hyatt Summerfield Suites that Bob (rhkkmk) recommends. Carol |
I live in NJ, and if I do go, it will be by train. I think I'd like to do things in Boston/Cambridge on Saturday (instead of going to the brunch), so I probably should stay someplace that's convenient for that. I am totally unfamiliar with the area, having visited there only once, briefly, when I was 15--many, many moons ago. I haven't looked at a map yet to see where Burlington is.
