Their FA's just have too much fun to be anything else but nice!

How come everyone loves the flights they have we me but no one has mentioned my airline?

United. Yes, United. I know United gets skewered for their flight attendants being rude, but I have to say that we've flown United 4 times this year and the FAs on all the flights were at the least, not rude, and in most cases were downright friendly, helpful and very pleasant. Maybe we were lucky. We've flown on Alaska and American this year and the FAs were not has nice as United's.

My first choice is WestJet in Canada. The attendants are friendly, helpful and will joke with the passengers and ON each other. The flight is less of a drag.

Another choice is Air New Zealand. It is a while since we flew with them but found them also friendly and helpful. Comfortable seating, comparitively speaking. No jokes.

Finally, Laxa to Costa Rica, many years ago. They too were freindly but the attendants were a bit shy when speaking English rather than their mother tongue, Spanish. But if I had to depend on speaking Spanish, I would probably land someplace that would be a great surprise to me.

Laxa continuously came round with drinks [beer or wine] and snacks, canipes all at no charge. However, when we were leaving San Jose for home, our flight was delayed. I could see out of the terminal window that a scaffold was moved up to the airplane and a man took a cylinder out, shook it and poured fuel out on the tarmack. Shortly after it was reinstalled, we boarded and flew home. I seem have understood that the fuel filter was being dumped. I said nothing to my wife but if the filter had been plugged, what about possible contaminent still in the fuel tanks? Would it plug again once we were air borne?

We had an intersting flight back to LA. Obviously we made it.

But Laxa, have changed hands, at that time they had great service and pleasant staff. A thing of the past?

It is too bad that more airlines are cutting back and charging extra for services. At least many of the budget airlines have friendly flight attendants.

How about this for "extra charges".

United is now charging $44 for their EXIT row seats! My husband is almost 6'5", but refused to pay. Ended up gettting one anyway when several of them went empty.

Isn't that considered "height" discrimination? :)

I agree with United. The great majority of them are nice and friendly. Things are getting better.

I see nothing wrong with charging for extra room (exit row seats) - $44 is NOTHING if the market will bare it, although it apparently wouldn't on your flight mlboyer1. I honestly don't know why people aren't willing to pay more to be comfortable. It would certainly eliminate a lot of the cattle car mentality that exists on airlines these days.

That's because, on many planes, they're part of Economy Plus. United has been charging an extra fee to sit in E+ for awhile -- unless you're eligible for E+ in the first place or get assigned an E+ seat at the gate because regular economy is full.

Please, everybody, please go pay the extra to get the E+ seats. Or pay $299 for a year for E+ access, along with a companion.

We've heard <b>so many times</b> here people complain about how little legrooms are on planes and how they would pay more to get more room.

Last time when AA gave away legroom for free, it didn't help them. Now, UA and NW let you do what you've asked for time and time again. So, do it before it's too late when they put the seats back on to the planes.

Free exit rows on jetBlue and 34&quot; seat pitch in the back half of their A320s. They are adding/expanding service to several new cities, including JFK-HOU.

Singapore airlines (head and shoulders above the rest!!!)

BA- up and down

The rest awful....most US air carriers and their service not worth mentioning in this list.......

You mentioned Qantas adjusting a bag in the overhead, on Singapore, they pratically ripped the bags out of my hands so they could store the for me - they are BOMBASTIC!

Southwest Airlines keeps their employees happy and in turn their employees are nice to customers.

From customer relations by phone to gate agents to flight attendants I've always enjoyed dealing with Southwest.

I find United and US Air gate agents and flight attendants surly at best.
