Sally,
As far as I know Southwest has the most customer friendly unused ticket policy. Funds are good for one year and they don't charge any change fees. Only the fare difference if there is one. You can also use the funds for multiple future tickets if you end up booking a cheaper flight or let someone else use it. Problem is, their routing is limited. But if it's a route they offer, they are always my first choice.

O.K. DS.
I give up. If I tried to explain it to you and give you facts supporting it, you would still take up a contrary position. You still believe what only the media called a "bailout" was a bad thing.
Nevermind DS and Sally. I'm just going to give this one to you. You're wrong, but differences is what makes America great.
Cheers!

Poor Res Boy. You are so disillusioned.

"At Continental Airlines, top executives at the carrier have voted themselves bonuses of more than 60 percent of their base salary for the year. The quarterly bonuses were disclosed in a recent filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Continental has lost more than $300 million in the first half of the year and expects continued heavy losses."

Did you get a raise too? I really think you should take those rose colored glasses off.
|
As a matter of fact, I did get a raise. One when they check the industry standard for res agents, and I will get another on 15 oct.
Cheers.
|
Only in the airline industry can a business that is bleeding money give employees raises! Must be the union. I think a lot of loyal employees would rather have the company go bankrupt rather than make wage concessions.
|
Good for you, CoresBoy, that you ALSO are getting raises.

In all other industries no-one gets raises, when companies lose money like crazy, especially if it's their own fault.

Only the airline industry is arrogant enough to give itself and its employees raises while losing so much money.

But - then - there are these nice tax payer bailouts, I'm sure Gordon and Leo and friends are working on a new petition already.

|
Remember Braniff? Giving themselves raises when they did not have the money? Their employees were the best paid employees around.

Kaw Kaw

Question for DS?

If you pre-purchased say by telephone a movie ticket for a 7 o'clock showing and you showed up at 9 o'clock because of that horrible accident on the freeway, would you expect the movie theatre to let you in for the 9:30 movie for free? I don't think so bud.

I will double a previous sentiment, the customer is NOT always right!
|
Whatever:

In response to your question, I would hope that the theater would be a little reasonable, and if there is an empty seat at the 9:30 showing, they would let me have that seat.

I also agree that the customer isn't always right, but as someone who has put in plenty of time in customer service jobs over the years, I always tried to be as accommodating as I REASONABLY could . . . Sorry, bud . . .
