RKKWAN help!!

Dear Rkkwan, you recently helped me with seeing what the plane interior was like for my upcoming flight.

I have now managed to change seats to Row 17 A&B near front of plane (Boeing 767-300 er)
can you give me another link (i.e.photo) to see this part of the plane.

Many thanks

Perhaps RKKWAN was refering to www.seatguru.com - I've used it in the past for help in determining which seat to choose. Hope this helps...

For photos try this:
http://www.airliners.net/search/?
Select the aircraft and carrier. Under "Category" select "Cabin Views". Then search.

Another sight like seatguru is seatexpert.com

rkkwan is on a trip to LA/OC right now. He'll be back Monday 6/11.

Thanks those who help me answer the question. Yes, I use those exact two sites for info - seatguru.com and airliners.net. Unless it's on Continental, then I can give you more detailed 1st hand info.

AnnRiley Jun 11th, 2007 04:42 AM

Thanks Rkkwan and others, i have looked at those sites.

Need 1st hand knowledge of are row 17a & b good seats they are preferred seats?have looked at airline.net but could not find a pic of this part of the plane?
just need to know have i done right thing in moving from row 36 A&B to row 17?
also seatguru has the wing starting at a different row than delta site, who is more reliable for plane config

rkkwan Jun 11th, 2007 04:46 AM

Those should be fine. And since you asked about watching movies, these should be much better as there's a LCD screen on the bulkhead in front of 16AB.

mrwunrfl Jun 11th, 2007 10:56 AM

I think you made a good choice. Those three/four rows 16-19 should feel a little bit like it's own cabin, the way it is layed out. You'll almost have your own private Loo, because most economy pax will be hitting the lavs at rows 19&21, won't they.

I'm going to make a guess that the Delta diagram is probably truer to the location of the wing. Reasoning is that on the seatguru diagram the exits at rows 20 and 21 empty out onto the forward edge of the wings, esp. row 20. Could see people running out the row 20 exit, taking two steps, and falling to the ground.
OTOH, the side view of the plane at delta dot com shows the wing behind an exit door.

You will be closer to the engines, but in front. So much for over-analyzing this.

Take a look at this photo:

www.airliners.net/open.file/1219305/L/

You'll see a big gap in windows, which is the closet and lavatory behind BusinessElite. Then you'll see a single window, which is for Row 16. From Row 17, you'll look out the one after that small gap. Right next to engine.

AnnRiley Jun 11th, 2007 03:19 PM

hello,
when you say next to the engine does that mean it will be really loud in our seats from engine noice.

AnnRiley Jun 11th, 2007 03:23 PM

me again,
notice that it looks like they may have removed a window as our row (17) we might have to look 'back' to see anything it does not look even?

mrwunrfl Jun 11th, 2007 04:18 PM

Oh, that's a good shot. Was picturing, in my mind, the engines being tucked back under the wings. Yes, sitting next to a jet engine would be noisy.

AnnRiley Jun 11th, 2007 04:24 PM

Thanks to all of you who have been kind enough to post a reply.
Sorry if i sound like i'm over-analysing, but want to get the best i can for our holiday and as you know it starts with a decent flight.
I am by nature a bit of a 'monica' (as in 'friends')and like things very organized. Again, thank you all for your very helpful replies.

We want you to be comfy. I think you are right about the window in your row. The window for 16 is a bit in front of the seat according to seatguru, so yours might be at your shoulder. I would appreciate the extra shoulder room.

rkkwan Jun 11th, 2007 05:05 PM

No, I beg to differ. Sitting beside an engine doesn't make it noisier. On most jets, it's towards the rear where you hear more engine noise. Further to the front the quieter.

From info I'm reading on seatguru.com, the missing window is probably right next to the seat on Row 17, or slightly behind that seat. You should have a nice window on Row 16.

mrwunrfl Jun 11th, 2007 09:08 PM

You might be right. But I'll take the aisle center, or better yet a center-aisle, and let someone else have the window.

mrwunrfl Jun 11th, 2007 10:21 PM

... the aisle seat, or ...

AnnRiley Jun 12th, 2007 02:39 AM

So it sounds like we won't have a window by us, it will be slightly behind whoever's at window seat, just at shoulder level?
i would imagine the lack of the few extra windows in this part of plane would make it seem a bit darker than the main economy cabin?

has anyone sat in this part of the plane to say if its better than the main economy cabin?

thanks again for input

rkkwan Jun 12th, 2007 05:15 AM

You will have a window by you. I don't understand why you think there won't be one. The missing windows are at the closet and lavatory.

I'm sorry, but you're going crazy about this. Keep this 17AB and stop worrying about it. Do not come back to this thread! ;)
