Liquid restrictions on domestic US flights
 

Hi,

This may be a really stupid question but is there the same liquid restrictions on board domestic flights in the US as there is on international? My girlfriend wants to get some Napa wines to take to NYC when we leave San Francisco and carry them on board. Is this possible. We are travelling with AA.

Only if they're in really little bottles.

You will loose them at security. I have seen many wine bottles at security. Do you want to check them in a checked bag? I don't recommend it. Good wine can be found everywhere--well, almost everywhere.

She would have to check the wines. She can't take the bottles as carry on.

I agree with <b>Wally</b>. About 95% of wines produced in California can be found just about anywhere, especially in New York City. Just find a nice wine shop in NYC and chances are you can buy the same wines. Not worth the hassle of transporting the wines yourself.

Another suggestion would be to have the winery ship the wines. They will know if they can ship it top NY state. Each state has different laws about wine delivery.

That's a valid option if the wine(s) are so obscure that you can't get them through a good local wine shop.

Thanks everyone very much for your help. I guessed as much and I'm sure we will find many and varied wine shops in NYC with great wines from all over the US.

And they will probably be cheaper in your local wine shops as well. Many times the wineries overprice the product. Taste enough and your wallet becomes looser!
