Thank you all
Julian, dinner booked at LQF--not taking any chances. Giddy with excitement. Will def. post trip report.

Hello,
Great! Look forward to hearing about it -- I haven't eaten there since they changed the restaurant format, but it's gotten great reviews. Cheers, Julian |
I'm real good at showing my ignorance, so here I go again. LQF must be really good, so I'd like to know what the initials stand for and where it's located. Thanks, Jack

Hello Jack,
LQF is Le Quartier Francais in Franschhoek. I've eaten in the a la carte restaurant which was replaced by the new tasting menu-based restaurant, and the food was some of the best I've ever had -- for comparison, I've eaten at the French Laundry and Bistro Jeanty in Yountville, Matsuhisa in Los Angeles (the original Nobu) and Balthazar, Aureole, and Daniel in New York. Now that I've joined the unspeakable venture, it looks like I will need to do an educational to the Cape -- and LQF is definitely on the menu! Cheers, Julian |
Ah so... the French Quarter... wonder what kind of food they serve? ;) And as for that "unspeakable venture", I meant to do this yesterday, ((Y)) ((Y))
