sheldrake/giraffe manor
anyone have any opinion on visiting the
Daphe Sheldrake orphanage ? or Giraffe Manor to see and feed the giraffes? please email [email protected] if you can would appreciate any info, opinion thanks |
My wife did both a couple of years ago. In Nairobi, I certainly recommend both (along with the Nariobi safari park).
We did the Giraffe Manor and the Karen Blixon house with a tour guide arranged by the hotel. Feeding the giraffes was definitely worth while. We went to Sheldrake via a taxi cab (an experience in itself) that was arranged by the hotel. He waited while we were at the orphange. It was quite interesting and and worth the time. If you go, try to find out when they'll be feeding the elephants and other animals. If you need any more info, let me know. |
We will be staying at the Giraffe Manor next summer as part of our Kenyaan and Tanzanian safari. I have found 3 related web sites that you may enjoy if you haven't already come across them:
