Thanks to your previous Seychelle advise on heat/humid, I got an a/c room in the Seychelles. The rest of the time we'll be by the pool or in the water off the boat - so I'll just stay immersed for 11 days.

The fizzies: got them pretrip - accepted lot in life.

Sunblock: got Bullfrog (the best) waterproof, sweatproof and everything else proof and not slimy or sticky spf 45 ((#)).

I'm thinking 80-90 for day time temps. in Tanz. - true? Does one really need warmish clothing (gloves,hats etc.) for the eves. at the crater rim?

It's nippy at the Crater Rim. Unless you're going to be walking around (not likely) just have a warm sweater or jacket. And, though the daytime temps can reach into the 90s in Tanzania, the mornings and evenings will be cool. If you happen to be in open vehicles on game drives the wind can sure pick-up, so layers are good, as a jacket or sweater. Also, gloves, a hat and scarf are good to have. While some vehicles have blankets, some do not. So best to have your own.

Jan/Feb in Southern Africa is summer, and though high daytime temps, we saw plenty of guests in open vehicles shivering from the cold on those morning game drives.

These items take up so little room in your luggage - stuff the gloves into your packed shoes and you can wear your scarf; a sweater is good to have on Intl flights as we know how cold it can get.

I prefer to be prepared and comfortable, than not.
