Kaye that was supposition from tracks and aural. We did not see a male Leopard while we tracked N in and out of the reeds, at one point we were right in the reed bed and heard some growling and I saw N move past the vehicle but that was it.

napamatt, We are trying to decide between Botswana and Zambia for 2008. We would do MalaMala in either case. Do you have an opinion of Bots vs Zambia. Game viewing and photography our our primary objectives and pleasures. I know Mala is wonderful but I think we could return to Botswana every year and never become tired.

Botswana wins over Zambia for game viewing and photography IMHO.
The size of my Zambia and Botswana photo albums bear that out as well. But I also spent a larger percentage of "game activity" hours walking and canoeing in Zambia than I did in Botswana. The walks and canoeing produced some good photo ops, but nowhere near as many as in a vehicle. |
Atravelynn,
Thanks for the insights. It's sort of what I suspected but wanted someone who had done both to confirm. Cheers,Chuck |
Yes afraid I'm unqualified to answer only having been to SA and Bots. My agent is going to Zambia this year and on his recommendation I may visit there in the future, but I love Mala Mala, Kings Pool and Mombo in that order.

But both are great destinations. My last 2 trips were to Botswana. After this summer, my next one is Zambia.
