Looking at some of the specialized photographic safaris ...... it appears to me that it is designed more or less to fill up the supposed "over-subscriped" camps and lodges. The photographers leading the tours themselves know that camp hopping with two and three night stays aren't ideal photo opportunities.

Can anybody explain to me what is going on, it appears that we are now getting posts that do not add anything to this thread.

I have received useful advice from the original posters, it now seems that people are playing silly games, this seems to happen a lot.
Why does this happen have you nothing better to do with your lives?

I guess you could call Chas a generalist. He can photograph anything anywhere and make a beautiful image. He also will tell you what he's doing so you can get the same image. I know that he makes a living with his workshops but it doesn't really feel like that when you're shooting with him. It feels like he wants you to know everything he knows.

I first ran across Chas on a nature photography website. He posted images with the techniques/tips that he used to get that image. Some of his workshop participants posted there also. Those images were so amazing that I made it my goal to take pictures like they were posting. I read the testimonials on his website and comments posted on the photo forum and looked around the web for other workshops/photographers and decided his workshop was what I wanted.

I took a 5 day workshop with him in 2003 and was brand new to photography with my first dSLR. He taught me basics of how to use the camera and lenses while teaching the others what they needed depending on their experience. With my level of experience (none) I didn't get much past the basics on that trip and it was the workshop I took with him in 2005 in Africa that really made a difference. That was his first trip to Africa but it didn't seem to matter much that he hadn't been there before. It was a mobile camping trip and the guide we had was very experienced.

I asked his wife if he has any Africa images on his website and he doesn't. He's working on a new website and isn't updating photos on the current website. He does post at naturescapes.net and you can see some of his images there. The images are much larger that what's on his website so you can get a better feel of his work.
