I have an FZ20 and recently bought a 1.7x teleconverter lens for it for my upcoming May safari.

It is an Olympus 1.7x TCON

You will also need an adaptor to use with the lens. I bought a Permaarl adapator (55mm).

Here is a great website on teleconverter lenses for the FZ30 and the adaptors you will need.

I tried out my 1.7x TCON on my FZ20 this past Friday at our local zoo to make sure I liked it before heading to Africa. I was very happy with it and the zoom capability out to ~700mm is outstanding.

Just make sure you check out the websites above to get the right adaptor (if needed). There are many options out there.

thanks for the websites and info buzztechie. I tend to tend to not be too techie myself, but I'm trying to wade through the details.
