Istanbul Edition
New & Noteworthy

There's a lot going on in Istanbul hotel-wise these days, but for our money this tops the list of newbies worth checking out. Located in central Taksim Square but away from major tourist attractions, the sophisticated Edition offers guests a taste of a different side of Istanbul from its perch in the business district. (It's adjacent to the Levent metro station for when the urge strikes to get out and explore.) Though homage is paid to Ottoman history with artisan-crafted furnishings and metallic colors in the decor, this vibe is more streamlined, sedate urban sanctuary than "Arabian Nights." Highlights include a Cipriani restaurant, film-screening room, ESPA spa replete with a marble hammam and innovative snow cave, and a drawing room with comfy sofas, throw blankets, and board games for post-sightseeing relaxation.
