Just minutes from the Tate Modern and St. Paul's Cathedral, in London's hip City district, a collection of refurbished townhouses has been re-envisioned and combined to create one of our favorite boutique hotels. A stay at this wood-panelled retreat feels as if you are overnighting at a friend's home. Perhaps it's the scent of the freshly baked croissants served for breakfast daily, or the fact that rooms—named for well-known former neighbors—are individually appointed and swathed in decadent fabrics and original rugs. Having unlimited access to a traditional sunroom (with a fireplace and WiFi) and an intimate bar (payment is on the honor system) round out the homey feel.
