Fodor's Expert Review Casa de Fructuoso Rivera

Once the home of General Fructuso Rivera, Uruguay's first president, this neoclassical Rivera House from the early 1800s was acquired by the government in 1942 and opened as a national history museum. Exhibits inside this pale yellow colonial house with an octagonal cupola and document the development of Uruguay and showcase daily life in Montevideo of the 1900s.
