Fodor's Expert Review Parque Intihuatana

Miraflores Plaza/Square/Piazza
A massive cement sculpture called Intihuatana, designed by Peruvian artist Fernando de Szyszlo, dominates this plaza across the bridge from Parque del Amor. Intihuatana is the Quecha term for sundial, and the artist was no doubt inspired by intihuatanas in Machu Picchu and other Incan sites. It's a great spot to grab a snack or beverage and watch the surfers ride the waves below. It marks the beginning of the Malecón de la Reserva, which winds its way southward along the adjacent Parque Champagnat to the Larcomar shopping center and Parque Domodossola.
