Le Rêve

Orrego Luco 023, Santiago, Santiago Metropolitan, 7570000, Chile

This classic French house from the 20th century has been turned into a fine boutique hotel in Santiago's Providencia neighborhood. With its 31 rooms, it's big enough not to feel closed in, and throughout its spacious and stylish three floors, you can choose between garden or street views. There is a terrace with fruit trees for having breakfast in the sun or shade. There is also an honesty bar with self-serve liquor. It's all very proper and French, and the comfortable rooms all but guarantee a good night of sleep—after all, the name in French means \"the dream.\"

Cozy, handsome, French-style rooms with comfortable beds and quality sheets, framed prints, accent lamps and long drapes. A few have Juliet-style balconies, popular with guests for photo ops. Larger terraces for spending time come only with more deluxe rooms.

A few of the rooms can be joined together for families or groups. Make this request upon reservation. And if you'd like one of the Juliet-style balconies that overlook the street, make that clear as well.

Comfortable, modern and squared off, with showers (no bathtubs) and large mirrors, accent lamps, high quality amenities and large windows for natural light and ventilation.

Stylish and European with honesty bar for snacks and drinks. Attached is an adorable teal antique-style kitchen which guests may visit for a midnight snack, which feels both homey and sneaky at the same time.

There is an honesty bar, and drinks may be enjoyed in the living room/lobby at sofas with coffee tables or regular dining chairs.

Getting Around

This hotel is well-located near the main commercial strip in Providencia, and between the Los Leones and Pedro de Valdivia metro stations, both of which are convenient. However, especially after the metro closes (around 11:00 pm, depending on the day), guests tend to prefer Uber/Cabify or a taxi.

Nearby restaurants include Liguria in Manuel Montt (12-minute walk) for Chilean food in a bistro environment, or Aquí Está Coco, (9-minute walk) a seafood restaurant with quirky furnishings. El Ancla (13-minute walk) is a more traditional seafood restaurant that many liken to eating at a coastal hamlet or at the Mercado Central, (16-minute drive), another great option, but only open through lunch (we recommend Donde Agusto). Or make a small foray down to Lastarria (13-minute drive) to try out the nation's first wine bar (with pairing plates) at Bocanáriz (13-minute drive). For true foodies, go up to Nueva Costanera (11-minute drive) to try out world renowned Boragó (9-minute drive) with unusual preparations of even more unusual locally-sourced ingredients.

For a mid-market feel and a lot of nighttime activity, cross Providencia to the other side of Orrego Luco (3-minutes walk) or the street of Manuel Montt (12-minute walk) to try your luck at any of the bars there. Or drive down to Lastarria (13-minute drive) to check out Bocanáriz (13-minute drive) for local wines. Feeling like seeing and being seen? Go to Piso Uno, (7-minute walk) a restaurant with Nikkei (Peruvian Japanese fusion) food, and a very stylish patio and bar. Or try the French-inspired Les Dix Vins (7-minute drive) in Vitacura, nearish to the Costanera Center (13-minute walk and the tallest building in South America with a mall on the first five floors).

This hotel represents some of the best of local Chilean hospitality with comfortable rooms, good details, attention to service, a nice breakfast buffet and loads of comfortable places to relax. It feels warm and sophisticated, yet personalized, like a boutique hotel should, and the thought and planning is clear in everything they do. The location is ideal for business or pleasure and the midnight snack in the kitchen will keep you coming back for more.
