Fodor's Expert Review Hotel Parque Quilquico
Quilquico Rural s/n, Castro, Los Lagos, 570000, Chile
Across the Dalcahue Channel at Rilan Peninsula, Hotel Parque Quilquico incorporates the colorful style of Chiloé architecture into a hotel with a green conscience. The rooftops are covered with grass, and buildings are made of recycled native woods and old metal sidings from former Chiloé structures. Many of the ingredients in the hotel restaurant are grown on-site. Standard rooms may be on the small side, but each is buttressed by a private terrace, perfect for sitting outside and enjoying peaceful views in the distance. Plus, the hotel has its own walking trail, which winds its way through magnificent agricultural scenery to wetlands teeming with birdlife.
