Fodor's Expert Review Centro da Cultura Judaica

Avenida Paulista and Bixiga Notable Building

Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.

A short cab or metro trip northwest of Avenida Paulista, this Torah-shape concrete building is one of the newest architectural hot spots in town. Inaugurated in 2003 to display Jewish history and culture in Brazil, it houses a theater and an art gallery and promotes exhibits, lectures, and book fairs. The center's café was inspired by New York delis and serves local Jewish cuisine.
