A world away from the mainstream pousadas in the heart of Itacaré, this jungle lodge's eight bamboo bungalows built on stilts offer a total escape into nature while still providing creature comforts such as hot water, a swimming pool, and beautiful views across the primary Mata Atlântica rain forest to the ocean. The setup may be rustic rather than refined, but the helpful bilingual owners are on hand to shake up fresh fruit caipirinhas and organize everything from massages to jungle trekking. Although only 3 km (2 miles) to Itacaré, exploring is limited without your own car, so either rent one or be happy to stay put at the lodge.
