Taxes

Throughout Bolivia, a 13% value-added tax (IVA) is added to hotel and restaurant prices and to items purchased in some stores. If you are charged IVA, you should also be given a receipt or factura. It’s worth asking for a price sin factura (without a receipt) if you are bargaining, as this may mean paying less. Street vendors work strictly in cash.
