Molinos, a village with about 5,000 inhabitants, has a photogenic 17th-century church and a small vicuña-breeding farm (vicuñas are similar to llamas but their fur makes a much finer, more expensive wool). The main draw, however, is its location on the way to Argentina's oldest winery (Bodega Colomé) and to many more in Cafayate.
Molinos is also just a few miles from Seclantás’ Camino de Artesanos (Road of the Artisans), where weavers make ponchos and scarves by the roadside on contraptions improvised from wood and old bicycle parts. The Laguna de Brealito, 10 km (6 miles) due west of Seclantás, is a picturesque lake in the middle of nowhere. Eight km (5 miles) east of Molinos are the pre-Columbian ruins of Chicoana.
