Fodor's Review

A ¾-mile partially boardwalked loop from Norris Geyser Basin Museum passes by this thermal area in the Norris basin's eastern portion. In this geothermal field of whitish geyserite stone, the earth bulges and belches from the underground pressure. You'll find bubbling pools, some milky white and others ringed in orange because of the minerals in the water, as well as small geysers such as the extremely active Whirligig.
