Fodor's Expert Review The Blackbird

$$ Spokane Eclectic
Inside the historic Broadview Dairy building, this gastropub has a casual, industrial setting, welcoming outdoor patio, and exceptional food. There's a southern influence found in menu items like the weekend brunch's shrimp and grits, as well as a focus on meats smoked on-site, charcuterie, and wood-grilled burgers and steaks. Brunch includes such savory offerings as smoked brisket hash and migas (eggs and fried tortilla) with chorizo, and sweet items like brioche French toast and Dutch baby (popover pancake) with charred mandarin oranges. More sweets, all baked in-house, show up on the dessert menu, including dark-chocolate pave (flourless tart), bread pudding, and spiced apple doughnuts.
