For decades, the perfect way to end a night out in Washington was a trip up to the Sky Tavern on the Hotel Washington's 11th-floor rooftop. The W Hotel has replaced the Hotel Washington, and the Sky Tavern has been reincarnated as P.O.V. ("Point of View"), a trendy, hipster indoor lounge with an outdoor terrace offering tremendous vistas of D.C.'s low skyline. Enjoy the unique view of the Washington Monument and the White House while savoring a pan-Mediterranean array of cocktails, appetizers, and small plates. While the panoramas here are no secret, meaning waits are common, P.O.V. does take reservations. Popping by in the late afternoon may be a more relaxed option.
After 5 pm, the venue only allows 21 and older.
