Fodor's Expert Review Paul
This chic, quick café is the Parisian equivalent of Starbucks, but that doesn't mean Americans of all walks of life won't be blown away by the fluff of its cheese gougeres puffs, the heft of its salty-sweet croque monsieur sandwich, and the delicate crunch of its almond-flour macaron cookies. Recently opened spinoffs in Farragut North, Foggy Bottom, Metro Center, and Georgetown have not sapped the appeal of the perfect pastry, so there can be lengthy waits during the lunch rush. But when you compare the prices and quality to other Downtown lunch options after a morning of museum trekking, nothing comes close.
