Fodor's Expert Review Le Grenier

$$ Capitol Hill French
Le Grenier’s slogan is “the French on H,” and it's no joke: this cozy spot near Union Station has every bit the feel of a Parisian neighborhood bistro, with a menu of traditional favorites to match. The wonderful assortment of cheeses and charcuterie plates—featuring a delectable pâté and fig chutney sides, as well as heaping bowls of mussels—never disappoints. Appetizers include traditional dishes like escargot, frogs' legs, and quiche Lorraine, and the entrées follow in the same mold, with offerings like pork medallions with port-rosemary sauce and crab cakes with creamy remoulade and frites. Although not huge, the wine selection is well chosen. For dessert, it’s tough to go wrong with the "Ti-Moun," a crêpe smothered in Nutella.
