Fodor's Review

The up-and-coming Bloomingdale neighborhood is still long on pubs and short on reliable, quality food, but this California-style taco temple is changing all that with its rockabilly charm. Slide into a red velvet booth and try the oversize chorizo torta sandwich or zesty meatballs with quail eggs. À la carte tacos, led by a classic carnitas, are less than $4 each and on offer until last call at a late-night discount. Wash them down with a house-made margarita or a Tecate, then come back at brunch for a thrilling version of the egg-topped nachos that Cali-Mex devotees call chilaquiles.
