Fodor's Expert Review Liberty Rose
1025 Jamestown Rd., Williamsburg, Virginia, 23185-3434, USA
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
Century-old beeches, oaks, and poplars surround this slate-roof, white-clapboard house on a hilltop acre 1 mile from Colonial Williamsburg. The building was constructed in the early 1920s; furnishings include European antiques and plenty of silk and damask. Most remarkable is that every room has windows on three sides. The large room on the first floor has a unique bathroom with a claw-foot tub, a red-marble shower, and antique mirrors. Breakfast is served on a sun porch. This two-story bed-and-breakfast does not have an elevator.
