Hill Farm Inn

458 Hill Farm Rd., off Rte. 7A, Sunderland, Vermont, 05250, USA

Simple cottages and the best views in the Manchester area make this former dairy farm a winner. You can roam a mile of riverfront along the Battenkill and pet goats, sheep, chickens, and a lazy pig named Blossom. The main inn, which dates to 1830, has a large wraparound porch with sweeping views of Mt. Equinox. Rooms here and in the separate 1790 guesthouse aren't modern, but they're clean and comfortable and furnished with sturdy antiques. If you're here anytime spring through fall, consider booking one of the one- and two-bedroom cabins scattered on the lawn. They offer privacy and a wonderful feeling of freedom amid this beautiful setting.
