Fodor's Expert Review Cloudland Farm
With the table literally on the farm, this restaurant delivers a unique farm-to-table experience that makes it worth the short drive from Woodstock. Prix-fixe dinners ($45) are served on Friday, Saturday, and most Thursdays. All ingredients for the seasonal menu come fresh from the farm or from other growers; Cloudland's own pork and beef figure in such main dishes as maple-glazed ham with apple-and-onion compote, and beef shank osso bucco with sautéed kale and beef bacon. The desserts—among them homemade carrot cake with red wine caramel and carrot jam—are delicious. Bring your own wine or beer, and the restaurant will provide glassware and a corkscrew for a small corkage.
