Fodor's Expert Review The Woodstock Inn and Resort
14 The Green, Woodstock, Vermont, 05091, USA Fodor's Choice
Far from the main road but still on Woodstock's gorgeous green, this resort has a hard-to-beat location. Guest rooms are contemporary and luxurious, with huge flat-screen TVs, country-chic furniture, and all-white bathrooms with subway-tile walls. Small but key touches include daily afternoon tea with homemade cookies. The state-of-the-art, LEED-certified spa offers a wide array of services; even if you don't get a treatment, you can pay a small fee to visit the eucalyptus steam room, outdoor hot tub, and cedar sauna. Downstairs from the lobby is the brick and wood-panel game room with chess, checkers, pinball, arcade classics, and other nostalgia-inspiring amusements for both kids and adults. Among the dining options are the Red Rooster, for elegant cuisine, or the more casual Richardson's Tavern. The resort also owns and provides access to the Suicide Six ski area, a Nordic center, and a golf club.
