The swatch of suburban communities south of Salt Lake are divided into the Midvalley and South Valley regions, with more of the notable attractions, eateries, and businesses of interest to visitors in the former, chiefly in the towns of Murray, Millcreek, Cottonwood Heights, and Holladay, which has a particularly charming and lively downtown. In addition to being home to some interesting museums and parks, these areas also have some hotels and dining and nightlife options that are popular with winter skiers and summer hikers and bikers making their way to and from the Cottonwood canyons.
