Air Travel

The El Paso and Midland airports keep West Texas serviced and hopping. Most of the major airlines fly to the El Paso Airport, 7 mi from downtown. The airport operates several shuttles to city hotels; ground transportation also includes most of the major rental car companies. Taxis, limousines, and buses regularly service the airport, and many major hotels offer complimentary shuttle services at nearly all hours. The petite but busy Midland Airport is served by Southwest, American Eagle, and Continental Express. The airport, which is a 15-minute drive from downtown Midland or Odessa via Bus. 80 or Hwy. 191, has rental cars, a shuttle service, and bus services.

The Panhandle is fortunate enough to be serviced by airports in the four largest towns: Amarillo, Lubbock, Abilene, and (very limited) Wichita Falls. The smallest of all, Wichita Falls Municipal Airport (SPS), operates mainly as a military airport but does host daily service from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) via American Eagle.
