Fodor's Review

Austin is home to the world’s largest urban bat population, with as many as 1.5 million of them sharing the Capitol City. Each evening, visitors congregate to watch the Mexican free-tailed bats take flight from under the Ann Richards Congress Bridge into the air for their nightly feeding ritual. The best time to see the bats is between April and August. While you’re waiting for the bats, make sure not to miss the view to the West as the sun drops below the jagged skyline of the Texas Hill Country.
