Fodor's Expert Review DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Nashville Downtown
315 4th Ave. N., Nashville, Tennessee 37219-1693, United States See on Map
One block from the state capital and three blocks from the Ryman Theatre and the Johnny Cash Museum, the downtown DoubleTree is very accessible to everything the area has to offer. A non-smoking hotel, guests can request a digital roomkey for an updated stay or they can choose to receive a key for a more traditional hotel experience.
YOU SHOULD KNOW A taxi from the airport will generally cost at least $25.
room
In clean and cozy rooms, guests will find all the essentials including a workspace and sitting area. Upgraded rooms are more spacious and provide coffee tables or an additional couch in the separated living room. Wifi is available as well as coffee, tea, and a cookie upon arrival.
The entire hotel is in compliance with ADA guidelines; therefore, it is completely accessible to all impaired guests.
bathroom
Smart and spacious bathrooms feature granite counters and a walk-in shower.
lobby
The sophisticated lobby is modern with vintage flare. Flower arrangements punctuate the pressed tin front desk, and books line the shelves for guests to read. Vinyl is also stacked near the lobby's record player so guests can choose a song or album.
pool
Guests have access to a heated indoor pool surrounded by pea green couches and white tables.
gym
The hotel does have a fitness center with standard equipment such as free weights, treadmills, and ellipticals.
dining
For quick bites and snacks, there is a 24-hour snack bar and market as well as a Starbucks in the lobby of the hotel. One of the hotel's two restaurants, Fourth & U, serves American favorites such as wraps, pasta, and steak. Patio 315, an outdoor restaurant with fire pits and lawn tables, is open for lunch and dinner.
The hours at both Starbucks and Fourth & U are very reliable should guests need a snack or quick meal. Starbucks is open 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. every week day and from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the weekends. Fourth & U is open from 6 a.m. to 1 a.m. daily.
drinking
Take a seat at Patio 315 for an alfresco drink while the weather is nice, or head inside to Fourth & U's martini and wine bar.
LOCATION
Getting Around
Valet parking is $42 per day, plus tax. Self-parking is available at public decks. Once the car is parked, walk or Uber to sights around downtown as the hotel is centrally located.
Restaurants
Though the hotel is near the honky tonks and chain restaurants, venture further from the hotel to experience more local restaurants. Virago (6-minute drive) offers Asian dishes such as sushi in a trendy setting, and Kanye Prime (6-minute drive) provides contemporary fine dining. Try Sole Mio (7-minute drive) for Italian.
WHY WE LIKE IT
The downtown DoubleTree makes it easy for guests to relax and enjoy the city. Its location is ideal for visiting the main attractions, and local restaurants and bars are not far either. Guests have everything they could need, and options to choose from at that.
