Fodor's Expert Review Sea Pines Forest Preserve
Walking and biking trails take you past a stocked fishing pond, a waterfowl pond, and a 3,400-year-old Native American shell ring at this 605-acre public wilderness tract. Pick up the extensive activity guide at the Sea Pines Welcome Center to take advantage of goings-on—moonlight hayrides, storytelling around campfires, and alligator- and bird-watching boat tours. The preserve is part of the grounds at Sea Pines Resort. Overlooking a small lake, the outdoor chapel has five wooden pews and a wooden lectern engraved with the Prayer of St. Francis.
