Fodor's Expert Review Brasserie Gigi
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
In the Market area, this French restaurant offers a respite from the tourist buzz. Chef Frank McMahon, who spent years honing his craft at Le Bernardin, opened Brasserie Gigi and named it after his wife. The expansive bar, tile floors, and wooden tables call to mind the casual eateries of Paris. The fried oyster salad with carmelized red onions, the steamed mussels accompanied by crispy fries, and the shrimp with linguine in a white wine sauce are standouts on the approachable menu.
