Fodor's Expert Review Adamstown Inns and Cottages

These two elegant Victorian inns are less than half a block from each other. Set high on a hill, the Amethyst Inn is a true Painted Lady, with an exterior clad in deep eggplant, forest green, amethyst, and gold. The Adamstown Inn was formerly run as a second B&B, but is now rented as a five-bedroom, 5½-bath vacation home. Both have spacious rooms with private baths, handmade quilts, fresh flowers, and lace curtains. Several rooms have whirlpools, fireplaces, and European-style steam showers. There are also a pair of cozy two-bedroom cottages for guests; like the inn rooms, they're impeccably kept. A hearty breakfast is served each morning.
