Fodor's Expert Review Amity Vineyards
The Gamay Noir label here notes that the wine gives "more enjoyment to hamburgers [and] fried chicken" and the facilities include a trailer affectionately referred to as the "mobile chateau," already on the property when founder Myron Redford purchased the winery in 1974. These modest and whimsical touches underscore what seems to be Redford's philosophy: take your wine-making a lot more seriously than you take yourself. Taste the Pinot Blanc and also linger in the tasting room to sample the Pinot Noir and the Gewürztraminer, among other varieties. Chocolates made with Amity's Pinot Noir and other products are available for sale.
