Fodor's Expert Review Sunshine Mill Winery

The Dalles Winery/Brewery/Distillery

You won't find many wineries situated in more unusual buildings than Quenett, which operates out of a early 1900s flour mill with huge grain elevators that soar over the southern end of The Dalles's downtown. Inside this dramatic old structure that nearly fell to the wrecking ball before winemakers James and Molli Martin bought it, you'll find the tasting room for Quenett, which produces first-rate Grenache, Viognier, Barbera, and a Chardonnay–Viognier–Sauvignon–Blanc–Semillon blend. You can also order cheese boards and other snacks, and sample wines from the company's other line, Copa Di Vino, an inexpensive brand of single-serving table wines sold throughout the country.
